Well, this is just a "LinkUp". In other words, I'll just link to the article wither or not I agree with it. It's a good way to encourage discussion.

I don't totally agree with the guy. But maybe he's just being a little bit too cautious. BET sucks before Indiana Jones and it will suck afterward. I would rather them try to promote a progressive film and not a summer blockbuster, but this is commercialism at its finest.

Totally agree with Slappy. By the way, I saw Indiana Jones this past weekend and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Now, in terms of BET: we go so far as to make these closed minded assumptions about white supremacy and overseers and all that other crap, we tend to forget to take these things just as they are - entertainment. BET has been making a fool out of itself for years on end, and I doubt it will get any better. This is just BET being BET.

Bullshit.

If you look for symbolism, be it racist, sexist, religious, social, or political, you'll find it. Use that kind of filter in your thinking, and you'll find whatever your looking for, even(and especially) when it isn't there.

We turned it on Rosanne(she watches it, I hate it). Sexist symbolism where it doesn't exist? Sure I found some. It came on Nickelodeon. A show who's main character is a woman would come on a children's network at 2:30 because the white men running it don't want women getting good time slots. The show started with the main character wearing a waitresses uniform. That paints the main character(a woman) as a servant, subserviant to the her mail conterpart. Her boss is a gay man, suggesting that even men who take the ass sausage are dominant to woman. Her children talk back to her and disrespect her at every opportunity, which hints to the possibility that even children who have never had sex or paid any bills are in a position of authority have the right to tell women to go to hell because woman are a lower life form.

See what happens when you take things out of context and draw ridiculous conclusions?

BET? FUCK BET #1. As far as BET promoting Indiana Jones, black folks watch movies with white folks in em, right? Start from there and disect the rest of that post. The dude has his white supremecy filter on. Tell him to watch the Lakers play the Spurs and he'll probably say Phil Jackson represents a slave owner...fucking prick.

Turn your filter on. For the next few days look for 23. Look for that number every where and you'll find it a million times.

This shit pissed me off and was a waste of space. Thank God, I can be subjective about this kind of thing.
