Sexy, defined. Eartha Kitt was basically that. The multi-talented woman passed away yesterday, Christmas Day. I recall her from the old Batman series with Adam West. I’m not going to lie and say this is where I learn sexy from, but I definitely liked her style. She most famous for “Santa Baby”, so I could have put up that song yesterday and called it a day. However, I spend some extra time looking for a video of Catwoman because this is how I remembered her. However, I bumped into this Live performance of her performing I Want to Be Evil performed in 1962. Her facial expressions, her actions and switch up between angelic and wicked can pretty much sum up how I remember her. Wickedly wonderful. She defined what sexy should be… and didn’t even have to strip.
But if you rather see her in a more… er, recent form, I can clearly say that only Eartha can sound sexy and creepy at the same time, check out this scene she did in Boomerang in 1992.
She’ll be missed.

KRS-One, Soulja Boy and The Science of Respect
Now that I’m entering the music game, it seems that everyone got advice for me. The main advice: Do you and don’t do no one else. In other words “keep it real. Don’t sell out.” The selling out part I won’t be doing. The “keep it real” part I always plan on doing. However, it seems that part varies from person to person. So, I decided to accept this new rule: To always do me, no matter what others may think about me. If it’s me wanting to do this, it’s because I’m comfortable doing this.
Since that is my new rule, I have to wipe out some old way of thinking. So with that in mind… I will officially say this:
I’m feeling Weezy, T.I. and Soulja Boy. (no homo)
Why that announcement? Simple. Because I used to NOT like them. I keep thinking that the game don’t need people like this. That they are killing hip-hop. However, that’s what make hip-hop so beautiful. It’s different for everyone. My vision of hip-hop isn’t really the vision Soulja Boy has. Sure, he’s not the deepest lyricist out there, but the mere fact that he’s having fun seem to be more than enough for me. Lil’ Wayne actually grew up, and his swagger is addictive, I must say. Now, with T.I. actually writing down his lyrics again, he’s actually making hip-hop interesting again.
So, I guess I was a bit harsh in the past. But now, I promise… from here on now, that I will always be more open minded to new hip-hop artist. As proof, I will listen to the new friend request…
… who’s a gangsta rapper…
… who doesn’t seem to be the gun carrying type…
… degrading women… and degrading guns…
… and who is this guy, eating money… literally?
… maybe I’m not ready for this yet. *deletes request*
To close out, here’s KRS-One and Soulja Boy, bridging the gap. Personally, I think Soulja Boy feels a bit intimidated standing in KRS-One’s presence. I would feel proud to stand there…
