Aaron McGruder’s YouTube series just released another "Boondocks Bootleg/Super Rumble Mixshow” video. This time, it’s Tubesteak’s exposing Barack Obama. In this short, it’s just Tubesteak (you know, the guy who tells you to buy his Bootleg Boondocks shows) in his lonesome, doing what he does best… sounding like a rapper with beefs. He talks about a point (from a “black urban ghetto” point of view) that deals with Still-President George Bush and how Bush hold his friends down while Obama is picking and choosing carefully, and not picking his friends.
Er, since it’s short, I don’t want to overexpose it, just watch and give me your thoughts.
I only seen one bit of Comedy Central’s Chocolate News. It seem to be a take on Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson’s views of how Black People present themselves. According to some people, Chocolate News didn’t seem to catch on with the audience. DL Hughley Breaks the News seems to not catch on too well either. Seems like when it’s our turn to “fake the news” or parody mainstream news, we seem to take ourselves a bit too seriously.
Hopefully, Aaron McGruder might changed that. A few hours ago, his Boondocks Bootleg channel showcase The Nergo News Brief. It seem to have hit the right formula because it’s most about issues only the streets would care about. However, this does brings up an interesting question: Why do we hold ourselves to extremely high standards when it comes to anything? Only time will tell. In the meantime, enjoy this video.
It’s only speculation, but when you see Uncle Ruckus getting ready to hit who appears to be Barack Obama with a brick, one have to wonder. This picture was sighted on the BoondocksBootleg channel on YouTube. YouTube, by the way, do have a partnership with Boondocks Bootleg, which appears to be the official channel of all things Aaron McGruder.
In a way, it makes sense, since television will never give Aaron McGruder the freedom to express himself. Case in point, it turns out that the BET episodes WERE banned from television. (At one point, I thought it was a marketing ploy.) It’s also true that Google have been trying to boost up their revenues by getting Sponsoring videos and going live. Even Jay Smooth of illdoctrine recently announced his partnership with YouTube on NewTeeVee.
Note: This is ONLY speculation. I’m only taking a guess here. They might have “mini-clips” or the whole third season or just previews of the third season. Nothing official was said yet.
The only way to found out now is to wait for Aaron to drop the bomb. Which could be any day now…
… yep, any day now.
Aaron McGruder: I Never Said Barack Obama Was Not Black
In a letter to Editor & Publisher, he said that the statement is “categorically false.”
Here’s what he was trying to express:
In other words, in this example used, First Lady Michelle Obama is more of a Black American than Barack Obama, who’s heritage is more African-American. While he is a son of an immigrant, it doesn’t make him less black. Aaron’s just saying that he didn’t have the same history growing up as Michelle does. I’m “West Indian-American”, which means my outlook and experiences will be different from others. I grew up in both USA and St. Thomas, Virgin Islands. So, I understand slightly where McGruder is coming from. My father nor mother (both foreigners when they met) taught my siblings and I values that are different from American Black families. While I still grow up knowing the struggles American Black people go through, I don’t and probably will never fully understand it.
Other than that, Aaron did said he was “cautiously pessimistic” about President Obama, but it’s typical Aaron McGruder material from there on. He’s just keeping his guard up, as usual.
And this is a living example of why I’m slow to “break news”. Sometimes, waiting is good.
