President’s Day: Thomas Jefferson’s Quotes

Usually, I do not partake in holiday traditions, however, in some cases I like to make exceptions. Today, in honor of President’s Day, I decided to quote a past President that foreshadowed what America could become.

I’m just going to leave these two quotes with you. May you find why I would in your every day lives.

“I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around [the banks] will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered. The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people, to whom it properly belongs.”

“If people let government decide what foods they eat and what medicines they take, their bodies will soon be in as sorry a state as are the souls of those who live under tyranny.”

Thomas Jefferson, (Attributed)
3rd president of US (1743 – 1826)
