NYOil – "Y’All Should All Get Lynched" is now Animated

In October 2006, NY Oil, a underground New York rapper, released one of the most controvesial videos on YouTube called "Y’all Should All Get Lynched". This video was banned from YouTube, but lived on in other places. Then recently, this animated version of the song was released… on BET. Why would a two year old song ended up on BET? NY Oil, in a recent promo video, said he was not aware of the video being on BET, but he did know how BET got their hands on the song.

In January 2007, the song was licensed to BET and while the video was completed in October of the same year, BET sat on the video. Then the video managed to be released just in time for NY Oil’s release of his first album, Hood Treason.

The animated version is shorter and left out a few references, but still have that shocking commentry. Another surprising fact of this video is that the one I found was uncensored. Wither it was uncensored when it hit BET is questionable. So, for your enjoyment, here’s the animated version and the first version of the video.

    He didn’t drop names? Why? Because he would have to include Tupac and Biggie in the attack. They objectified women, talked that murder murder shit.

    The problem with cats like this is their unwillingness to accept the fact that life is life and people are fallible. And rapping cats are not…I REPEAT, ARE NOT to blame for the worlds ills. The world was ill BEFORE rap and will be ill after Hip Hop is long gone.

    “Fake ass this and that. Your fake. Your not a gangsta.” Do you know these dudes? Nope. Your speaking on other people from a state of ignorance. “I heard so and so did this and that and that’s not gangsta.” Shut up!

    I’m not saying that Hip Hop doesn’t need to reevaluate itself. There are things that need to be looked at. But in looking at Hip Hop, we are only looking at a mirror of society for the most part. Hip Hop is a reflection of what people are doing and want to do.

    If the PEOPLE want to see this shit…ballin, bangin, bitches, who is to blame. The people supplying the demand, or the those demanding it.

    So, NYOil. Pointing your finger at Hip Hop artists is not the solution. Let’s find a new way. NEW! Not pointing fingers. Cause when you point one finger at someone, you got 3 pointing back at you.

    Calling for lynchings? Shock value rap? Who the fuck you think you are, Insane Clown Posse? That shit is on some Jerry Springer shit. You had some valid concerns voiced in the verses but the hook destroyed the song.

    Also, aren’t you being a hypocrite? Isn’t infighting among the black community something you would be against? Aren’t these “fake” n-words and hoes still our brothers and sisters. Divide and conquer? Is division in your formula for healing?

    And finally. Your constant dropping of the N-bomb seems a bit hypocritical as well. Especially after the “even Africans is calling y’all”. That along with endless use of the word bitch seems a bit like the pot calling the kettle…lol that was too easy!

    I feel there should be a balance in one’s music self. Honestly, I feel that this guy would call up Biggie’s name, but can’t because… well, Biggie seems to be an exception (he’s only got two real albums to Tupac’s 5+) But, it’s actually a different time when these guys were alive. I think he’s more reflecting to the state nowdays.

    Plus, I don’t care who you are, you can’t break down the world’s problems in three minutes.

    If anything, shock value is the name of the song. I think the song is more targeting the minds of BET than the minds of backpackers. He’s also using the “n-word” as… well… the real use of it.

    Not trying to defend the guy. Everyone’s got a different point. But the mere fact that people talk about it is probably the effect he wants.
