One of My Favorite Michael Jackson Moments: His First Moonwalk

One of My Favorite Michael Jackson Moments: Ghost

I was going to sample “Ghost” as part of my first mixtape because it’s one of my favorite songs. With Michael Jackson recently, died, I might reconsider.

Russell Simmons Tweeted That He’s Suing Def Jam

A few minutes ago, I sneak a peek at my Tweetdeck (an application use to access Twitter) and Necole Bitchie said something about Russell Simmons suing Def Jam via Twitter, then deleted it. Since Tweetdeck captures any tweet and I am currently following Russell Simmons (known as Uncle Rush on Twitter), I decided to search for his tweets. And I ran into this:

Uncle Rush suing Def Jam

Looks like he’s got some explaining to do…

But, this goes to show you once again: Just because you deleted it, doesn’t means it’s gone! So, if it’s legal dealings or something that isn’t shareable with the public, it’s best you don’t tweet it. After all, you are REALLY doing this…

Sorry Uncle Rush… :(

A Film About The Female Emcees – Say My Name

"Say My Name" Promo Poster  One of the films that is making a buzz at SXSW 09 is a documentary called “Say My Name”, a film which focuses on the female emcee. In the game where it’s male dominated, it’s nice to see female emcees bring a different POV to the game. It features interviews by Rah Digga, Jean Grae, Erykah Badu, Estelle and newcomers Chocolate Thai, Invincible Miz Korona and (sadly may I add) the locked up Remy Ma. As appearing in the documentary are pioneers like MC Lyte, Roxxanne Shante, and Monie Love. Hopefully, this documentry will answer the questions about the lack of female rappers and the lengths they have to go through to be treated fairly.

Check out the trailer after the jump.
